MRI CERVICAL SPINE W/O & W CONTRAST

Collected on February 28, 2015 7:43 AM

Your cervical spine MRI showed some progression with possible new lesions that possibly enhancing. I say possibly because seen on some sequences and not others
The brain MRI is stable

Results

CLINICAL HISTORY: MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS, RELAPSING-REMITTING

TECHNIQUE: MRI of the cervical spine was performed without and with IV contrast.

CONTRAST: GADAVIST 7.5 ML COMPARISON: Prior study dated 10/01/2011 cervical MR imaging.

FINDINGS: Evaluation of the cervical spinal cord again shows areas of abnormal altered signal involving multiple segments of the cervical spinal cord with possible new lesion involving C5 asymmetric towards the left. There is possible subtle enhancement of this lesion is identified as well on the administration of contrast. Persistent additional nonenhancing cervical spine and medullary lesions are again seen. Possible upper thoracic signal abnormality identified as well. Cervical degenerative change is also seen.

C2-3: No disc herniation or stenosis.

C3-4: Disc protrusion and/or spur asymmetric towards the left without significant stenosis.

C4-5: Mild degenerative disc disease without herniation or stenosis.

C5-6: Mild degenerative disc disease without herniation or stenosis.

C6-7: Endplate and uncovertebral degenerative disease with left greater than right foraminal stenosis without significant stenosis central stenosis.

C7-T1 no disc herniation or stenosis. IMPRESSION:Findings suggest progression of spinal cord signal abnormality at C5 with possible subtle enhancement. No additional areas of pathologic contrast enhancement identified. Cervical degenerative disc disease which has progressed at the C3-4 level with other degenerative changes, as described above.
